Of The Month Awards

Of The Month Awards are used by NRHH chapters nationally to recognize those who have gone above & beyond

What are OTMs?

Of The Month awards (OTMs) are a way to recognize campus leaders who have made an impact above and beyond their call of duty.

OTMs are submitted via the OTM database at www.otms.nrhh.org. Please create an OTM account before submitting OTMs.

There are two different types of OTMs - general or program.

General OTMs include:
  • Advisor
  • Bulletin Board
  • Community
  • Executive Board Member
  • Faculty/Staff
  • Organization
  • Resident Assistant
  • Spotlight
  • Student
Program OTMs include:
  • Community Service Program
  • Diversity Program
  • Educational Program
  • Social Program
OTMs are due by midnight on the first day of the month for the previous month.

After OTMs are submitted to NRHH, winners are selected on a campus level. An OTM committee will be formed for the 2009-2010 school year to select campus winners. If you are interested in joining, please e-mail otms@udnrhh.org.

Campus winners are submitted to the regional level and onto the national level. During the 2008-2009 school year, the University of Delaware had five regional winners and one national winner!

Top Ten OTM Tips

  1. Make sure your information is in the appropriate category
  2. Make sure you have the correct contact information for nominator & nominee
  3. Define all acronyms - they are not always universal
  4. Explain how the nominee went above & beyond
  5. Include lots of details!
  6. What lasting effects did the nominee have on the campus? In the residence hall? With faculty or administration?
  7. Check spelling & grammar
  8. Do not go over the word count
  9. Make sure it is month specific
  10. Continue to write OTMs every month!
